Computer Suite

Our computer suite is well equipped with 20 iMac computers for pupil use. Teachers make good use of an interactive whiteboard and projector when teaching classes.

All pupils have regular timetabled slots for using the computer suite.Recent projects include - Garage Band, animation and using iMovie to make short films.

Science Lab / Technology Room

The science lab is used by pupils for science work, part of our Environmental Studies programme. The area may also be used by classes for carrying out technology projects.

Wall displays highlight the current projects being studied by our classes. There are computers linked to the Internet for pupils to carry out research. Digital microscopes are also available for pupils to use to investigate interesting objects.

Early Years Shared Reading Library

Situated in the Early Years corridor, the shared reading library is an attractive area to stimulate our pupils' interest in and enjoyment of reading. The area can be used by classes or groups of pupils. There is a wide range of reading material available for borrowing to read at home or in school. As well as books, the area has computers and a listening centre for pupil use. Parents are involved in maintaining the library and in working with small groups of children.

Learning Resource Centre

P 3 - 7 make good use of our learning resource centre. This area was completely refurbished in 2000 to make a bright and attractive area for learning. The area is divided into 2 parts.

The larger area contains our books for borrowing and developing reference skills. Pupils may also use computers for research, using CD-Roms, writing reports etc. Teachers may also make use of an interactive whiteboard for teaching reading skills. The learning resource area is a key resource in developing our pupils' reading for information skills.

In the smaller area, pupils may access information via televsion and video. There is also an area where pupils can relax and read for their enjoyment.
