Our School Aims
In Gylemuir we aim to -
* Provide a safe, caring and happy environment for all
* Develop, resource and implement a broad, balanced curriculum using "Curriculum Framework for children 3 to 5" and 5 - 14 guidelines in accordance with city of Edinburgh recommendations
* Increase the pupils individual levels of attainment by setting appropriate targets
* Encourage children to be motivated, independent learners and to achieve their full potential in all aspects of their education and life skills
* Promote partnership with parents to encourage involvement in their child's learning and the life of the school and further establish links with the wider community making use of local resources
* Provide equal opportunities for all pupils maintaining a positive ethos by promoting positive self discipline and self esteem, recognising individual needs and celebrating cultural diversity
* Encourage an open, supportive climate where all staff are able to work effectively as a team, making the best possible use of appropriate accommodation, resources and space
* Improve the skills and professionalism of all staff using the expertise within the team as well as a structured programme of development
